First United Methodist Church

Music is an important part of worship at FUMC, and all groups are open to musicians who would like to serve their church in this capacity. The Chancel Choir is made up of both adults and youth, and no auditions are required. The choir sings for weekly worship services, as well as a Christmas cantata and special Holy Week and Easter services. The Chancel Ringers are a handbell group for adults and youth that rehearses weekly and plays monthly for worship, as well as for special seasonal services. In addition, the ringers attend the annual West Tennessee handbell workshop in Memphis, TN. The children's choir, His Kids, is for children from preschool through 5th grade and rehearses weekly for scheduled worship singing, as well as a Christmas program.

 

In addition to the regularly scheduled groups, there are frequent opportunities for soloists, small ensembles, and instrumentalists to share their gifts. Those who would like to learn more about these music ministries may call Bob Brown at the church office.
